1).In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? In my magazine front cover I used and developed basic conventions such as my masthead and my cover lines however making them add an extra amount of influence amongst the piece. I also considered every part of my mise en scene as I wanted the picture to be the main attraction of the magazine: it is more images based then written based. This made my fashion magazine more sophisticated and reliable building a sense of reliability therefore being treated as if to be   real high end fashion magazine .As I started of initially with my image which was then accompanied with cover lines that linked back to an original theme of rising up and becoming more strong and independent especially amongst young coloured females and that was also shown through my masthead of warrior which added to the sense of power and enlightenment .I also tried many different fonts in order to fit...

Here I took multiple picture of my model to see roughly what I wanted to do in my final pictures. This helped a lot because I saw what angles I wanted to use and see how also what sort of aurora I wanted for my fashion magazine cover and what I wanted people to get from it.

The way that I intend for my fashion magazine plans to be constructed would be to use Media Language and Media Representations to appeal to my audience of 14 to 18 year olds. The use of mise-en-scene would be used to convey how my audience sees the model thus giving an impact on the way they also see the magazine. As my magazine does focus on fashion the clothes used would be to represent the message of being independent and being a strong human being however I would also like to present the model as staying in touch with their cultural and feminine side but not to the extent where it starts to lose the influence that I want to generate. The use of light would be for the models face as it is able to highlight their feminine beauty .I would like to try and use minimal editing when coming to the actual model herself as to promote the self loving body positive image that I hope to create as to set a better standard of how people in society should respect one another and love themsel...

a   I used these questions as it was something that I knew would grant me a decent understanding of what my audience was like and what they would like to see . This is then able to help when making my final piece as it allows me to edit or design my ideas based on what the audience would  want to see .  The audience being the consumers of the piece are vital as that is who would buy it and is needed to make it essential to the overall aspects of my fashion magazine .

For my market research which I have already began to have started since evaluating different magazine forms and conventions , I will attempt to further my understanding using online media platforms really focusing on the level of detail each magazine has added to ensure that their target audience is attracted to the piece . This will then allow me to be able to understand how each magazine appeals to their audience permitting me to conduct that same level of detail making sure that my audience is attracted to my fashion magazine there increasing its  potential  product value. The research I aim to conduct for my audience shall be to distribute surveys I have made for students within that audience range. The surveys would first be able to tell me who this person is so we have categories to an extent, of certain types of people and what they find interesting hence having a clear ideas as to what to include in my magazine so it can be intriguing to a wide variety of...

I have created a moodboard based on different fonts in order to attract my viewer. Although fonts in general may seem as a small compartment on a fashion magazine it is something vital as it creates an image. It allows the viewer to see what kind of image the magazine wants to present and how that can help them in choosing if they would like to read it or not. All of these magazines use their fonts in order to tell their audience what their magazine is about and the type of reader that they expect to have. For example, with Glamour magazine they use san-serif font allowing their audience to feel as if it’s more of casual magazine leading to how they are to do with not only beauty but lifestyle. The colour pink conveys how it is targeted at a majority of females due to how the colour scheme is seen to be more feminine using colours such as pink. Hi my name is Iman Balogun and this is my GCSE Media blog. Welcome to my thoughts and feelings concerning everything that is media related in order for me to question what as a society we see, think or hear from out media formats. Currently in year 10 we are study fashion magazines and will be asked to produce our own front covers and contents pages from scratch that would be targeting the audience of 14 to 18 year olds  .These aspects should allow me to consider conventions that I may want to choose whether or not to include (subverting) and also my ability to create a piece of work.
